Day 4: I LOVE Trader Joe's

Two words: Pirate's Booty.

Yum.

Not to mention all the other really good stuff you can get at TJ's.

Tonight, friends are coming over and we're making homemade pizza using TJ's fresh pizza dough and pizza sauce.

Here's a query: what are your favorite pizza toppings?

And here's a second query: what is your favorite beverage when you have pizza?

And finally, third query: what is your secret to great pizza?

I have yet to find prepared pizza dough around here. I sure do miss TJ's...

Pier 54 pizza in Provo had one of my favorites: alfredo sauce, cheese, spinach, artichoke hearts, and lemon wedges to squeeze over the top. I never ate any other kind there.

Petrillo's Pizza--my hometown fave does a mean thick crust with Italian sausage, pepperoni, and mushrooms. Yum.

Best pizza: Mackenzie River Pizza. Yummy yummy. Buffalo Wing flavor, which includes chicken, celery, blue cheese, red sauce. Sounds gross but tastes awesome. They bring it piping hot right to my table, with my favorite drink, Diet Pepsi with Lime.

Of course I haven't been brave enough to try drinking yet. Why do you think they call me Sister Mary Lisa?? And when will I do it finally so I can say I did??

Last night's pizza's included:

Ham, pineapple, and mustard seed

Pepperoni, mushroom, and black olive

Fresh tomato, black olive, and feta

Sweet basil, pepperoni, and garlic

The secret: I don't know. I think I've just got it figured out and then the pizzas don't cooperate.

Best drink: I hate to be cliche, but root beer. (Has to be good root beer, though, like IBC. None of that Mug R.B. crap.)

Here's a query: what are your favorite pizza toppings?

Lots and lots and lots and lots of CHEESE-- especially fontina.
Garlic.
Some tomato sauce.
That's really all you need, but I also like to add black olives, spinach, fresh basil leaves or maybe a little pesto. And I also like pepperoni, on top of everything else, so it gets crunchy and carmelized.

And here's a second query: what is your favorite beverage when you have pizza?

a crisp pale ale, or a diet coke.

And finally, third query: what is your secret to great pizza?

Finding a good pie shop that delivers.

the secret to great pizza is not to be limited in your choices.

My favorite pizza place at home has a pizza with pesto and goat sheese on it it is AMAZING!

Also mix a little parmesean from Kraft into the sauce.
