Have Brush... Will Travel...

I've been working as an independent consultant for the last couple of months. Among my gigs, I've written a grant for an ENGO (and they got the grant!), content for a neighboring police department blog (that has yet to be posted as I'm the subcontractor and the contractor can't seem to get her crap together and get it submitted to the PD chief), and I'm editing abstracts on tobacco research for a firm out in California (ongoing.)

But, in a departure from my normal skill sets of writing and editing and coordinating, I'm also branching out into more laborer-type work.

Next week, I'll be painting the office in a home of some folks who live at a country club in semi-rural Virginia (or the ex-burbs, as it's being called 'round these parts lately.)

I love to paint. It's such a nice, hands-on, satisfying kind of work. It's work for which you have immediate results. It has its own challenges--like making sure you apply enough coverage so the former color doesn't show through or ensuring there are no roller marks or taking care to not get the wall color on the ceiling or the trim.

So, if you're in need of some high-end, top quality painting (please note: I roll, I don't spray), let me know. I use only Duron paint and I can get you a discount on all their paint, but you have to pick the colors. I don't do color consultations. You can email me at JMK1468 @ gmail . com.

Or, if you don't need painting, but you need editing, grant writing, or event planning skills, I'm good for that, too!

You are better than I am, I really do not enjoy painting.

Too bad you aren't near Plano, I'd hire you.

I hope the job offers roll in for you! I also prefer the brush to the spray.
