In the BIN

I read the live feed on DC Blogs every few days and I've decided today to start a new feature on my blog. Every once in a while, I'll feature a list of blogs I've read that have moved me in one way or another. By moved, I mean, they made me laugh or cry. They forced me to stop, ponder, ask hard questions. They inspired me. Whatever.

I'm calling this feature "In the BIN" which is short for "Blogs I've Noted." (An acronym. How droll and Washington of me, no?)

I'd like to start this feature with these four blogs.

The first is from Creole Princess who had a friend guest blog the other day. The friend wrote about racism and started a debate I've long wanted to venture into, but have eshewed for fear of appearing ignorant or racist when, in fact, I'm just trying to understand cultural differences. Here is An Azzhole is An Azzhole is An Azzhole.

Along those same lines is this piece from fellow blogger, The Gunfighter. He asks, Am I Black Enough? I enjoy his perspectives and really enjoyed this entry today.

The third is a blog I read this morning. It's written by a young women named Carrie over at "A Total Waste of Make-up." She writes about her dying grandfather and her memories and his meaning in her life. I was deeply touched by her generous writing and hope you are, too. Here is Double Shot of Old Grandad, on the Rocks. On the Rocks.

Finally, my friend, Adriana, is reinventing her format on her blog and I love, love, love the results. Here is The Goose Has Landed and its subsequent entries.

thanks for giving me the shout out on your site and to DC blogs. It really is touching to me that other people are enjoying the memories of my grandfather. :-)
