Why, oh, why do online newspapers make you register and use a user name and password?!? This is the most infuriating nuisance out there.
I already have a UN/PW for my bank account, student loans, cell phone voicemail, home voicemail, each of my utility companies (gas, electric, phone), e-mail accounts (three of those), blog accounts (five of those). Each of the passwords is supposed to be unique. The last thing I need is to have to remember yet another password so I can read the frickin' New York Times or Chicago Tribune.
I understand having passwords and firewalls for things like my financial information and e-mail accounts. But for a newspaper? What's there that needs securing? The news?!
Demographic tracking be damned! I'm sick and tired of having to register a user name and password just to be able to read the damn paper.
Calgon! Take me away!
